講題：Joint Modeling of Laboratory and Field Data with Application to Warranty Prediction for Highly-Reliable Products

摘要：
To achieve a successful warranty management, good prediction for product’s field return rate during the warranty period is essential. This study aims to make field return rate predictions under a particular scenario that multiple products have similar design and each product has discrete-type laboratory data together with continuous-type field data. We built a hierarchical model to link the failure information between lab and field data. Due to efficiently sharing the information among products in the inference, the proposed method generally provides a more stable lab summary for each individual product, especially for those cases with few or even no failures in lab testing stage. Furthermore, demonstrated in a real case study, the proposed method provides a better connection between laboratory reliability and field reliability, and further leads to a significant improvement on field return rate estimation.
